Summer of 2023 will go down as one of the greats in Kenmare's history!

An inspiring  story about a group of determined artists who came together to make something special happen in an otherwise empty space, turning it into a place where families and people from all ages and backgrounds could enjoy a wide and varied array of live music and dance for free.
In a town already synonymous with Traditional Irish music the "Scene on the Green" Festival brought something new to the mix and put on shows from genres such as Rock, Blues, Pop, Techno, African, Folk, Rap, Avant Garde, Classical..
In the end the Festival ran for 26 days with only 1 day rained off! We managed to stage 67 shows which included 150 artists and at least 5,000 people passed through the Marquee during those wonderful magical days & nights!

The Cherry on the Icing on the Cake
was the "Scene on the Green" Song Contest
held on 6th Aug with 11 wonderful Contestants battling it out for the highly coveted First Prize of a day's recording with Tony O' Flaherty in Súlan Studios, Ballyvourney!
It was a fantastic day of fun and entertainment!

There's a great backstory to how the festival all came together in the end, a story I'm writing about in great detail in my book at the moment but for now I put these pages together as a tribute to the combination of energies and the sheer effort it took to make it all happen...
